Development of Five-Axis Active Controlled Axial-Flux Self-Bearing Motor using Unipolar Magnetic Field

This paper introduces a five-axis active-controlled axial-flux self-bearing motor that uses unipolar and four-pole magnetic fields to control radial force tilt moment of the two-pole permanent magnet rotor. The proposed method controls only one-axis by unit rotor stator, therefore two units are necessary for motion control. stators can be placed on double-side single-side In this paper, principle is introduced, analyzed theoretically. Then experimental devices with made levitation rotation tests carried out. results confirm achieved stable up 900 rpm in stator 440 stator.
